Dear Cahill Families,

Happy October! It’s been a wonderful start to the school year, and this month is full of exciting events and important safety learning for our students.

We kicked off the month with Fire Prevention Day, where our local firefighters visited Cahill to teach students about fire safety and the importance of being prepared. We will also conduct  Lockdown and Evacuation Drills - a routine part of our safety procedures to ensure everyone knows what to do in an emergency. Thank you for talking with your child about these important safety lessons at home.

On a lighter note, we’re thrilled to take part in the Big Apple Crunch, celebrating healthy eating and New York State agriculture with a collective “crunch” into locally grown apples!

Our PTA is also busy planning a fun-filled Trunk or Treat event—thank you to all the families volunteering to decorate their trunks and pass out treats. It’s always a highlight of the season!

Later in the month, we’ll host Parent/Teacher Conferences, an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and goals. More information about scheduling will be sent home soon.

Finally, we’ll wrap up October with our Halloween Parade, where students are invited to show off their costumes and enjoy a festive day with classmates and families. It’s always a joyful tradition and a great way to celebrate our school community spirit!
