Dear Cahill Families,

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we have a number of exciting events and important reminders to share with you. This month’s letter includes updates on upcoming state testing, some fun events organized by our PTA, and key dates to mark on your calendars. Here’s what’s happening at Cahill this month:

New York State Testing - April-May 2025

As we prepare for New York State (NYS) testing, we want to ensure that all families are informed. The NYS assessments for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics will be administered in April for students in grades 3-6. These tests are an important measure of our students’ academic progress, and we want to reassure you that our staff is committed to supporting your child throughout this process.

A letter was sent out on March 3rd with information on the testing schedule, including specific dates and helpful tips for parents. We encourage students to get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and come to school ready to do their best.

Harlem Wizards PTA Event - March 29, 2025

We’re excited to announce that the Harlem Wizards will be visiting Saugerties CSD on March 29th for TWO fun-filled games, 2:30pm and 6:30pm! This highly anticipated PTA event will feature an entertaining basketball game with the Wizards’ players, who are known for their high-energy performances and amazing tricks. It’s going to be an unforgettable night of laughter, excitement, and community spirit.

Ticket information and event details are available through the PTA. We encourage you to come out and support our school, enjoy the show, and watch Cahill staff play against the Wizards!

Spring Concert - April 9, 2025

We are thrilled to invite you to our Spring Concert on April 9th at 7:00pm. Our talented band and chorus students have been working hard to prepare a beautiful performance, and we can’t wait to showcase their musical skills. This concert will be a wonderful celebration of their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

Please mark your calendars and join us for a night of inspiring music and school spirit. It will be an evening to remember as our students share their talents with our school community!

Literacy Night - April 10, 2025

We’re also thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Literacy Night on April 10th. This special evening will focus on fostering a love of reading and literacy at home. There will be engaging activities for students in grades K-4, along with resources and tips for parents on how to support their child’s reading development.

Whether your child is just beginning to read or is already a strong reader, Literacy Night will provide valuable tools to help nurture their love for books. We hope to see you there for a fun and educational evening.

Spring Break - April 14-21, 2025

Spring Break is just around the corner! Our school will be closed for Spring Break from April 14th through April 21st. We will also have a snow give-back day on April 22nd. This is a great opportunity for our students to rest and recharge before we enter the final stretch of the school year. Please take this time to relax and spend quality time with your families.
