Attention Grade 8 Families!

This incredible opportunity supports first-generation college-bound students with mentoring, college readiness activities, and — if selected — two years of FREE TUITION at SUNY Ulster after high school graduation!

What You Need to Know:

  • Students must be in Grade 8
  • Be a first-generation college student
  • Maintain an 80% cumulative GPA (75% in core classes: ELA, math, science & social studies)
  • Have an 85%+ attendance rate and minimal discipline issues (or a strong teacher/administrator recommendation)
  • Preference is given to students with economic need

Deadline to apply: May 2

  • Students must complete an application and short essay
  • Finalists will be invited for a brief interview
  •  Five students from our district will be awarded the scholarship
  • Recipients will be notified before their Moving-Up Ceremony in June

Starting in Grade 9, PCS recipients will take part in exciting college prep activities at their school and on the SUNY Ulster campus.

Step Into Wonderland with Saugerties Drama Club’s Alice by Heart

Shake off the chill of winter and step into the magic of spring with the Saugerties Drama Club’s production of Alice by Heart. While inspired by Alice in Wonderland, this musical offers a different, more mature take on the story. Set during the 1941 London Blitz, it follows a young girl who uses the world of Wonderland to cope with the illness and loss of her close friend.
